Artist's Comments

This is a CD cover for the band Gift Anon. [link] . Those guys are out of control. It's a re-do of an older painting. I don't think I'll redo any paintings anymore. 13x13 Oil on Panel. Sold.

This is fantastic. I love the concept, and I really feel the impact of character's sorrow through this use of surrealism. There is definately a macabre feeling to this work; I feel the sense of helplessness, guilt, and a reluctance to take responsibility. The fireman stares at the fire as if the building is not worth saving. The boy, whose guilt is aparent, stands in front of the authorities while in no danger of being caught. This creates an interesting frustration, and this work is just plain awesome.

I like this more than the first one for sure the format of the first one was better but the lightning and rendering of this picture is much better. Why have you changed the face? liked the older one but this is painted with much more skill

A wonderfully disturbing concept, beautifully done (of course).

So wonderful...I love both pieces.

I thought the first one was a bit over the top. The face and expression was pushed a bit too far, I think. I've talked to many who disagree, however.

Wonderful piece, I think it povokes a different emotional reaction than the older version, it's funny because they deal with he same concept, but they had different effects of their :)
Glad to see a new piece of you too! :)

Oh, man... I'm torn into little pieces

I guess that this is both more technically advanced and also reflective of your current style; two items to its credit for which I suppose I would call this the greater work. But I think the original is more devastating and soul-crushing, for which I am inclined to be more attached to it. Thus, me = little torn pieces.

Anyway. Print?

I actually tried to make it a print, but I've always been really bad at setting it up. I'll try again later. I need to make everything I have available.
